Glossary of Terms

Expected Points Added (EPA): The change in Expected Points (EP) from play to play.
Completion Percentage Over Expectation (CPOE): Difference in expected completion percentage and actual completion percentage. Expected completion percentage is the likelihood of a given pass being completed given target depth.
Average Depth of Target (aDOT): Air yards on passing plays (ie does not consider yards gained after the catch).
Success Rate (SR): The percentage of plays that were successful, defined as plays resulting in positive EPA for the offense and negative EPA for the defense.
